Kayak and Standup Paddleboard (SUP) Rentals at Leonardo State Marina, Sandy Hook Bay, Jersey Shore

Big Bear Gear offers kayak and standup paddleboard (SUP) rentals at Leonardo State Marina in Leonardo, NJ on Sandy Hook Bay on the Jersey Shore. 

• Reservations are strongly suggested for all trips.
• We DO NOT accept cash at the Leonardo State Marina Kayak and SUP Center. Credit card or debit card only.
• Pets and service animals are not permitted as we can not assure their safety. 
• Alcohol is NOT allowed.
• Please fill out a waiver IN ADVANCE. 
• You must bring a whistle with you on your trip. If you do not have one you will be asked to purchase one.
• Watch the weather forecast for the day of your rental, especially wind conditions. We may sometimes close for inclement weather. 

Please note, the Big Bear Gear Kayak and SUP Rental Center at Leonardo State Marina is located in Leonardo, NJ. It is not located at our store (which is located in Lambertville, NJ)

Please be sure to review our Minimum Age Policy before booking:  The minimum age for kayaking is 10 years old in a tandem and 12 years old solo. Kayaking experience is required The minimum age for SUP is 12 years old. Under certain conditions, the minimum age may be increased and children may at times not be permitted.  All children under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by an adult that is a minimum of 18 years of age. A parent or legal guardian must sign a waiver.

Open Friday-Saturday, Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Open Saturday and Sunday Labor Day through end of September.

Open July 4 and Labor Day.

10AM-6PM on Saturday and Sunday

10AM-4PM on Friday
