Portions of the canal at the Delaware & Raritan Canal State Park is stocked with trout each Spring, and fishing is permitted the entire length of the canal. Bass, sunfish, catfish, perch and pickerel can be found year round. Fishing is subject to New Jersey Division of Fish, Game and Wildlife regulations. Access for fishing in the Delaware River is available at several locations, and can be easily accessed at many points along the canal, including the boat launch areas. American Shad and Rainbow Trout can be found in the river, among other fish.
